Computational Linguist
Job Description:
MODEL Technologies Inc. is offering a research internship in the area of computational linguistics.
This position will preferably be made available in conjunction with an affiliated academic/research or commercial organization interested in the development.
The research activity will involve language modeling and analysis concerning simplified Chinese language semantics, grammar, structure and rules. Language processing routines will be created as part of a text extraction module to be integrated in a knowledge management program that summarizes and classifies text.
The intern will work with lead developers to create a language extraction module for simplified Chinese. Responsibilities included language model design, coding, integration of the Module into a Windows based application, and testing.
Job Requirements:
- Current research interest and specialization in a related field;
- Strong programming knowledge in C;
- Native Mandarin Chinese speaking a must;
- Good communication skills in both English and Chinese;
