1. Taxonomy Workshop: This short course helps customers understand information architecture and concepts, and connect business needs to solutions enabled by taxonomy creation. Specific topics covered: controlled vocabularies, thesaurus, metadata and ontology. A project related example will be reviewed.

2. Contextual Analysis: This course explains the usage of concept and role of metadata to capture the meaning of information. Specific topics include: normalizing the use of roles, knowledge objects, knowledge formation from text, defining the context tagging process, navigational strategies, metadata change management strategy, and applicable industry standards. A project related example will be reviewed.

3. Development of customized concept templates. This workshop focuses on the customer’s business requirements to build the desired taxonomy. Clear articulation of business needs enables a quick formation of processable business knowledge. Topics include legacy taxonomies, knowledge mapping from content samples, third-party taxonomies, and end-user functionality considerations. During the workshop, discussions will be conducted concerning metadata specification, usage of existing industry specific taxonomies, and the integration of customized templates into the ContextPortal™ platform. A project related example will be reviewed.

4. Development and Deployment of ContextPortal™ solutions. In this tutorial, participants will learn about the major steps involved in initiating, developing, and deploying a ContextPortal™ solution. Strategies will be discussed to ensure that the maximum value of context management is achieved. This workshop is geared towards giving you the information you need to plan a ContextPortal™ solution, guidance in assembling content to be integrated, and knowledge of metadata production and maintenance for ongoing adaptability of your ContextPortal™ solution. This tutorial includes a discussion of the process of reviewing and validating of concept templates, lists of roles, and controlled vocabulary to fine-tune the metadata for delivery. An example, followed through its lifecycle, will be reviewed.
